I have decided that I will now just
write brief notes rather than a blog because Rob has worked out that it is not
possible to “Up-load” the blog and photos due to not be able to access Google.
We have really no contact at all with family or friends because we can’t
use Facebook or messenger. We have a new
guide, Joey. It seems that when we travel to a new area by train, we are met by
a new guide. We are left at the train station at the correct place to board and
go from there. Today we visited a “Kung Fu” school. This school had over 3,000
students aged from 6 to 17. Part of the school also had orphans. Parents pay to
have their children attend and it was interesting to learn that the families
rarely visit their children, maybe once or twice a year. We watched the
students doing their training and then were given a lesson from some of the
students. The moves we did were very gentle and we felt peaceful and calm when
we finished. We then proceeded to the Shaolin Temple and the Shaolin Kung Fu
school. The Martial Arts performance was
brilliant as was the temple and pagoda forest. It ended up a very long Day as
it was a public Holiday in China, May Day and many, many Chinese people were
visiting this special area. We were “celebrities” as a lot of Chinese people
don’t see western people so while we were taking photos of the Temple, many people
were taking photos of us. It took us over an hour to leave the carpark area. I
would have hated to be the coach driver.
