We had to get up very early this
morning as we were being picked up from our Hotel at 6.30am to be driven to the
station where we were to take a high speed train to the city of Yichang. We had
said our goodbyes to most of our group as there were only 12 of us doing the
Yangtze River Cruise. We were left on our own to catch the correct train to
Yichang. We managed to do this. Despite being a very high speed train the trip
still took 8 hours. We were then met at the station by a guide and taken to a
nearby restaurant for a very early dinner. From here we had a 90 minute drive
to the Victoria Cruise Ship. When we arrived we saw a very large cruise ship
similar to those we’ve been on before and a smaller ship nearby. Our ship was
the smaller. Once on this ship we settled into our small cabins and relaxed. We
were a little worried at first as there had been a pipe-burst on our floor and
the staff were trying to dry everything out but as it worked out our ship was
quite adequate despite not being as flash or large as some of the other ships.
